There are just a little more than 48 hours left of the transfer window for Premier League clubs but there’s still plenty of players whose futures are undecided.
Ahead of Friday’s deadline for deals, we’ve looked at five high-profile Premier League players who could move clubs before the window shuts.
Five high-profile players who could move before the deadline
Raheem Sterling
Raheem Sterling is exploring his options after being unceremoniously informed that he does not feature in Chelsea’s plans. Sterling was a prominent part of the club’s pre-season programme before being omitted from the squad for the opening weekend.
Enzo Maresca has said Sterling is unlikely to receive the minutes he expects at Chelsea, while the club have allocated his number seven shirt to new signing Pedro Neto. It leaves the 29-year-old facing a race against time to secure a transfer, after two underwhelming seasons at Stamford Bridge.

Sterling has been linked with a move to Manchester United, as part of a potential swap deal involving Jadon Sancho. Should that deal be completed, he will become just the second player to have represented four of the Premier League’s ‘Big Six’ clubs, after Nicolas Anelka.
Jadon Sancho
Jadon Sancho looks likely to leave Manchester United before Friday’s deadline with the winger’s reconciliation with Erik ten Hag having not been entirely complete.
Sancho featured during pre-season after repairing his relationship with the head coach following last season’s public fallout, but has been deemed saleable before the deadline. Juventus are pushing to sign Sancho despite deals for Nicolas Gonzalez and Francisco Conceição, while there’s interest in the 24-year-old from Chelsea.

Sancho grew up supporting Chelsea and a return to his native London could appeal after a disappointing spell at Old Trafford. However, Chelsea are likely to need a player to move in the opposite direction to get a deal done.
Ben Chilwell
Ben Chilwell is another whose name has been circulated as a potential makeweight in Chelsea’s pursuit of Sancho. The left-back can leave Chelsea after an injury-hit spell in West London with Chilwell having started just 30 league games across the last three seasons.
Marc Cucurella’s improvement at Chelsea and Chilwell’s injury record has seen Enzo Maresca inform the vice-captain that he is free to move on. However, Manchester United have ruled themselves out of the race.

Aaron Ramsdale
Aaron Ramsdale is another England international set to move clubs in search of a regular role this summer.
The 26-year-old lost his place as first-choice at Arsenal last season with David Raya brought in as number one at the Emirates. After a season of limited action, Ramsdale is keen to regain a regular role to keep alive his international ambitions.

Southampton are leading the race to sign the goalkeeper before the deadline, with discussions between the clubs progressing.
Ivan Toney
Ivan Toney looks set to leave Brentford before the transfer deadline, with the forward having been left out of the club’s Premier League fixtures as speculation surrounds his future. With less than a year on his contract and with a desire for a new challenge, Brentford have reluctantly accepted the loss of their talisman.
However, concrete proposals have not been forthcoming for the 28-year-old. Reported suitors in Manchester United, Spurs and West Ham have all signed centre-forward alternatives, while Arsenal have also distanced themselves from a deal.

Chelsea continue to consider Toney, though a potential move is likely to hinge on the success of their pursuit of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. There’s also interest in Toney from the Saudi Pro League.
