Crystal Palace have confirmed the signing of Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal.
Chalobah was informed that he has not future at Chelsea in the summer and was not included for the club’s pre-season tour of the United States. Several sides across the Premier League expressed interest in signing the 25-year-old, who can operate centrally or at right-back.
Palace have now confirmed the arrival of the defender on loan for the 2024/25 campaign, though the loan does not include a purchase option. Chalobah bolsters Olivier Glasner’s defensive options following the sale of Joachim Andersen to Fulham.
He becomes Palace’s seventh signing of the summer and the fourth of a busy Deadline Day, following the arrivals of Chadi Riad, Daichi Kamada, Ismaila Sarr, Maxence Lacroix, Eddie Nketiah and Matt Turner.
Chalobah delighted to join ‘ambitious’ Palace
“I’m delighted to join an ambitious club like Crystal Palace,” Chalobah told the club’s official website.
“I know some of the boys in the squad well and I’m looking forward to playing alongside them in front of the amazing support at Selhurst Park.”
Palace chairman Steve Parish added: “Trevoh is a talented young man and when the opportunity to bring him to Palace for the season arose, we were determined to seize it. I’m delighted that he has joined us on loan, and we believe he will be a great addition.”
