Jamie Carragher says he would be “very surprised” if Mo Salah leaves Liverpool next summer after the winger said this is his “last year” at the club.
The Egypt international confirmed after Sunday’s 3-0 win over Manchester United, in which he scored a goal and created two more, that the club have not offered him a new contract.
The 32-year-old, who has entered the final year of his current deal, said “we’ll see what happens next year” when the 2025 summer transfer window opens.
Carragher believes that Salah‘s ambition to break records and succeed at the highest level would rule out a move to Saudi Arabia, despite interest from Al-Ittihad last year. Neither does the former Reds defender foresee him leaving Anfield.
