Erik ten Hag has backed Marcus Rashford to keep the goals coming after scoring his first of the season in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Southampton on Saturday.
The 26-year-old doubled their lead after Matthijs de Ligt opened his account for the club, before Alejandro Garnacho came off the bench to complete the rout at St Mary’s Stadium.
Rashford had not scored in a competitive match for the Red Devils since March, but the Dutchman believes that now his long wait for a goal has come to an end the forward can keep them flowing like a stubborn bottle of ketchup that has finally relented.
“It’s very important,” Ten Hag told BBC Match of the Day. “For every striker, they want to be on the scoring list.
