Arsenal team news vs Manchester City – Saka named captain

Arsenal have named their team to face Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

Bukayo Saka will captain the Gunners at the Etihad in the absence of the injured Martin Odegaard, with the 22-year-old to wear the armband for Mikel Arteta’s team.

Thomas Partey makes his 100th Premier League appearance for the North London side in midfield, while there’s a full debut for Riccardo Calafiori who comes in at left-back.

Jurrien Timber is moved to right-back with Ben White dropped to the bench. Declan Rice also returns in midfield after a one-game suspension. The England midfielder missed last weekend’s North London derby win at Tottenham after his red card against Brighton earlier this month.

Former Manchester City players Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling are on the bench for Arsenal.

There’s no Kevin De Bruyne in the lineup for Manchester City after the midfielder suffered a groin injury against Inter Milan. Phil Foden is among the substitutes for the Premier League champions.
