Arne Slot has confirmed that Alisson Becker is fit to return as Liverpool prepare to face Wolves in the Premier League.
Alisson has missed Liverpool’s last two fixtures with a hamstring issue. Caoimhin Kelleher has deputised impressively for the Reds’ number one, though Alisson could make his return at Wolves this weekend after resuming first-team training this week.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Slot confirmed the Brazil international is available for the trip to Molineux.
“We think he is [ready to return],” the Dutchman told the media.
“He trained yesterday part of our session, we expect him to do the whole session today.
“We’re really happy, but I want to emphasise did really well with the two games with [Kelleher]. Another example of where we have two or three good options in some positions.”
‘Let’s see what happens’ – Slot on contract talks for key trio
Ahead of the clash, Slot was again asked for an update on the futures of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold. The trio are all out of contract in the summer and there has been no movement on extensions.
“I’m very happy that these players are in my team at the moment.
“There’s a lot of games this season and in the upcoming weeks, let’s see what happens in the future.”
