Arsenal vs Leicester – Predicted lineup and team news

Arsenal host newly-promoted Leicester City in the Premier League this weekend as the Gunners look to extend their unbeaten start.

Mikel Arteta’s men were seconds from earning a statement win at Manchester City last time out, despite playing the entire second half with 10 men at the Etihad. John Stones’ last-gasp equaliser saw the points shared, though Arteta was delighted with the defensive performance from his team.

It’s been a solid start for the Gunners who return to home soil in the Premier League after thrashing Bolton Wanderers 5-1 in the Carabao Cup in midweek.

That convincing win over the League One side followed three challenging away ties in a week. After beating Spurs in the North London derby, Arsenal battled to a point at Atalanta in the Champions League before holding Manchester City.

Arsenal team news

Leandro Trossard is available for Arsenal after sitting out his one-match ban during the Carabao Cup win over Bolton in midweek.

The Belgian was sent off at Manchester City for kicking the ball away while on a booking, the second such dismissal for Arsenal in recent weeks after Declan Rice’s red card for a similar incident against Brighton.

Martin Odegaard remains sidelined for Arsenal in a big blow to the Gunners, while first-choice goalkeeper David Raya is a doubt. Arsenal handed a debut to 16-year-old goalkeeper Jack Porter against Bournemouth, though the on-loan Neto will be expected to deputise this weekend if Raya is ruled out. The veteran missed the Bolton game as he was cup-tied, having represented Bournemouth earlier in the competition.

Raheem Sterling scored on his first start for Arsenal against Bolton and is pushing for a place in the team, while Ethan Nwaneri will be targeting involvement after his brace against The Trotters. The 17-year-old marked his full debut with two goals in an eye-catching performance from the academy graduate.

Mikel Merino remains out with a shoulder problem as the Spaniard awaits his Arsenal debut, while Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee), Kieran Tierney (hamstring) and Oleksandr Zinchenko (calf) are also sidelined.
