Liverpool manager Arne Slot believes Wolves’ goal was entirely “avoidable” after Ibrahima Konate made an error that led directly to it.
The Reds ultimately ran out 2-1 winners at Molineux on Saturday thanks to Mo Salah’s penalty.
Konate had opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time, but the Frenchman dallied on the ball in the 56th minute, allowing Jorgen Strand Larsen to rob him of possession right before Rayan Ait-Nouri equalised.
Slot gave a detailed explanation for why Liverpool were not at their best in the game, and suggested his side didn’t show enough energy in the opening 45 minutes.
“I don’t think we started well, but we have to give credit to Wolves and Gary O’Neil,” the Dutchman told Sky Sports after the final whistle.
