Football Manager 25 release date revealed following delay

Football Manager 25 has finally gotten an official release date ahead of its launch later this year.

The popular football management simulation video game was due to be released in early November, as it is every year.

However, Sports Interactive, the studio behind the long-running series, pushed the announcement for the release date back in a move that worried fans.

The developers are instituting a major overhaul of Football Manager after changing game engine, which will deliver an entirely new graphics system and include women’s football for the first time ever.

“The FM25 development cycle has been challenging for the whole team,” studio director Miles Jacobsen wrote in a blog post in early September.

“We knew that moving the entire game to the Unity engine was going to be a complex endeavor. As we’ve gotten deeper into the process and gained learnings, it’s fair to say it’s been trickier than we originally anticipated.”

Football Manager 25 release date

Football Manager 25 will now be released on Tuesday, 26 November, 2025, for PC and Mac, Xbox and PlayStation 5. A mobile version of the game will launch on the same day as a Netflix exclusive.

The Nintendo Switch version of the game and Football Manager Touch will also launch on 3 December. You can pre-purchase the game here.

The traditional beta or early access period for FM25 has not yet been announced and it is not confirmed whether there will be one for those who pre-order the game.

A number of features have been removed from the next edition of Football Manager, the biggest of which is international management. Sports Interactive have also taken out the social media screen, the data chalkboard as well as modes such as Create-a-Club, Challenge Mode, Versus Mode, Fantasy Draft. Some of these are lined up to return over time.
