Phil Foden will make his first start in the Premier League this season after Pep Guardiola named his Man City XI to face Fulham on Saturday.
Kyle Walker is dropped to the bench to make way for the 24-year-old in the only change to the lineup from last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle United.
The midfielder started for Man City in their 4-0 win over Slovan Bratislava in the Uefa Champions League on Tuesday, getting on the scoresheet before setting up James McAtee for his first goal for the club.
Ederson starts in nets while Rico Lewis moves to right-back after playing in midfield against Newcastle. Manuel Akanji and Ruben Dias partner in the centre of defence once again, while Josko Gvardiol is on the left.
Ilkay Gundogan retains his place in midfield despite a poor performance at St James’ Park, next to Mateo Kovacic. Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish are on the wings either side of Foden, while Erling Haaland will play up front.
Meanwhile, Marco Silva has made the shock decision to drop Emile Smith Rowe and start Sander Berge in his place. That is the only change to the Fulham lineup from last week’s 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
Man City XI vs Fulham: Ederson; Rico Lewis, Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol; Kovacic, Gundogan; Silva, Foden, Grealish; Haaland.
