Liverpool have joined AC Milan and Juventus in making contact with Real Madrid over a January deal to sign Brahim Diaz.
Diaz has struggled for regular first-team football at Real Madrid and has featured for just 201 minutes in La Liga this season. The 25-year-old has scored once and provided two assists in those appearances, while his form for Morocco has alerted clubs across Europe.
Diaz has seven goals and two assists in just eight caps for The Atlas Lions since changing his international allegiance from Spain to the Africa nation. The midfielder had earlier won one cap for Spain, scoring in a friendly win over Lithuania in 2021.
This month, Diaz scored five goals in two appearances for Morocco as Walid Regragui’s side secured qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Spanish outlet Fichajes are reporting that Liverpool have made initial contact with Real Madrid, alongside AC Milan and Juventus. The Reds consider Diaz as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, who is out of contract at Anfield in the summer.
Diaz previously spent three seasons on loan at AC Milan, where he made 126 appearances and won the Serie A title in 2021/22. He came through the academy system at Manchester City but made just 15 senior appearances for the club.
