Mohamed Salah has said he is ‘enjoying every minute’ at Liverpool in what could be his final season with the club.
Salah scored one and created another as Liverpool beat title rivals Manchester City 2-0 at Anfield on Sunday. The Egyptian carved out the early opener for Cody Gakpo with a wonderful delivery to the far post, before holding his nerve from the spot to seal the win.
Arne Slot’s side moved nine points clear at the top of the Premier League with the win – and 11 clear of defending champions City.
Salah saluted the role of the Liverpool crowd at Anfield and said he is keen to soak in every minute, with no progress on a new contract that expires next summer.
“The fans were behind us from the first minute. I’m glad we managed to win the game, we know that City are going to come [at us],” Salah said, speaking to Sky Sports.
On the Anfield atmosphere as Liverpool secured a statement win, Salah added: “It’s very special. I don’t take it for granted. I’m enjoying every minute here. It feels like home. It’s always special feeling always scoring at Anfield and winning games.”
Salah last week revealed that he has had no offer of a new contract from Liverpool and admits the situation is on his mind.
“Honestly it’s in my head. Until now this is the last City game I will play for Liverpool so I was just going to enjoy it. The atmosphere was incredible so I will enjoy every second here. Hopefully we just win the league and will see what will happen.”
