Cole Palmer has claimed another Premier League record after scoring twice in Chelsea’s 4-3 win at Tottenham.
Chelsea came from two goals down to win a thrilling London derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday. After Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski had fired Spurs into an early lead, following two errors from Marc Cucurella, Chelsea fought back with Palmer influential in the turnaround.
Jadon Sancho pulled one back with a lovely finish, before a brace of penalties from Palmer – either side of Enzo Fernandez’s strike – sealed three points for Chelsea. Heung-min Son’s late response was little consolation for Spurs.
Palmer’s pair of penalties mean he has now scored 12 in the Premier League for Chelsea, the most any player in the division’s history while retaining a 100% record.
He eclipses former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, who scored all 11 of his spot-kicks duirng a decorated career with the Citizens.
The most Premier League penalties scored without ever missing:
Cole Palmer – 12
Yaya Toure – 11
Dimitar Berbatov – 9
Raúl Jiménez – 8
Ruben Neves – 8
