Hojlund becomes third Man United player to achieve goal feat

Rasmus Hojlund came off the bench to rescue Manchester United in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The Denmark international struck twice as a substitute to turn around the club’s clash with Viktoria Plzen, securing a 2-1 win for Ruben Amorim’s side. Hojlund has now scored five goals in just four starts under the new manager in an encouraging start to life under Amorim.

His double to down Viktoria Plzen also saw Hojlund become just the third player to score nine goals for Manchester United in Europe at the age of 21, after Marcus Rashford and Wayne Rooney.

He’s now scored 10 goals in European competition for the Red Devils since the start of last season, while no player has netted more in the Europa League this season. Hojlund is the joint-leading scorer in the competition with five goals.
