Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Tottenham will look to sign players when the January transfer window opens.
Spurs have struggled for consistency this season and sit 11th in the Premier League table. The North London side are eight points adrift of the top four ahead of a trip to face fourth-placed Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day.
Postecoglou has seen his side concede nine goals in their last two fixtures, as Spurs deal with the absences of key figures. First-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and centre-back pair Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are all sidelined.
Ben Davies is also out, leaving Radu Dragusin as the only recognised senior centre-back in the squad. 18-year-old midfielder Archie Gray has deputised in the position in recent games.
Speaking ahead of his side’s trip to the City Ground, the Australian said Spurs plan to make additions in January.
“We have been planning for reinforcements, yes,” he said at his pre-match press conference.
“It’s fair to say we’re still a bit short in a couple of areas and we need to reinforce. We are still there in all competitions so we’ll try to sign players.”
Postecoglou confirmed Destiny Udogie is fit to start Thursday’s trip to Nottingham Forest, while Rodrigo Bentancur is available after his seven-game ban.
