Sancho makes ‘very annoying’ Chelsea admission following Palace draw

Jadon Sancho admitted it was “very annoying” that Chelsea couldn’t close out a win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The English winger set up Cole Palmer for the game’s opening goal in the first half, but the Blues failed to build on their lead at Selhurst Park.

Palace, who finished the game with more possession and chances, made the visitors pay late on as Eberechi Eze unselfishly squared the ball to Jean-Philippe Mateta for the equaliser in the 82nd minute.

Sancho was left frustrated by the end result, but the 24-year-old says he is pleased with the progress he has been making since his loan switch from Manchester United to Stamford Bridge.

“It’s very annoying to not get the three points,” Sancho told BBC Match of the Day. “You have to take your chances and if you don’t it’s never over.

“To concede that goal right at the end is very frustrating. I’m very happy to be improving my football and since day one here I’ve felt good and the staff and players have welcomed me. I just have to show 100 percent on the pitch.

“There’s still a long way to go this season, today was frustrating but we move on and learn from it.”

Chelsea are now winless in their last four Premier League outings, a run that has seen drift away from a potential title challenge and down to fourth in the table.
