Postecoglou makes Spurs transfer admission amid Kolo Muani links

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has said that the club need to sign new players in the January transfer window to help his injury-ravaged squad.

Tottenham Hotspur are in the midst of an injury crisis with ten players sidelined by injury or illness, while James Maddison and Pape Matar Sarr are suspended for the first leg of their League Cup semi-final against Liverpool.

The Lilywhites have already signed goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky as cover for Guglielmo Vicario and they have been linked with moves for PSG’s Randal Kolo Muani, Manchester City target Abdukodir Khusanov and Johnny Cardoso of Real Betis.

Postecoglou was asked directly about a possible move for Kolo Muani, who has fallen out of favour in Paris this season having made just two starts in Ligue 1.

“We’re still trying to help the squad and players,” the Australian said in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday afternoon.

“We will have roughly 10 first-team players missing. That’s not easy so we need to still try to help the playing group. The club is working hard in a number of areas.”

Kinsky is eligible to play for Spurs after completing his transfer from Slavia Prague for around £12.5 million at the weekend and could make his debut against Liverpool.

“He arrived on Sunday, he had a couple of days of training,” said Postecoglou. “He is registered and eligible to play.
