Brighton have expressed an interest in signing Tosin Adarabioyo from Chelsea this month.
The Seagulls are seeking a replacement for Igor, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign after undergoing hamstring surgery.
Fabian Hurzeler’s side are now understood to have enquired into the availability of Tosin, who moved to Stamford Bridge on a free transfer from Fulham in the summer.
The 27-year-old has not been an automatic starter at Chelsea but has earned a run in the side due to injuries to Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana. Tosin scored twice as Chelsea beat Morecambe 5-0 in the FA Cup’s third round at the weekend. He ahs started 15 games across all competitions this season, though just seven of those have come in the Premier League.
Sky Sports are reporting that it is ‘unclear’ whether Chelsea would be prepared to let Tosin leave the club, given their depleted defensive options.
The West Londoners recalled Trevoh Chalobah from his loan spell at Crystal Palace this week to boost their centre-back stocks, with 18-year-old Josh Acheampong having started the club’s last two Premier League fixtures.
