Newcastle United are reportedly considering a move to sign Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea this summer, should Alexander Isak leave St James’ Park.
Isak is being linked with an exit from Newcastle after another impressive campaign in the North East. The Swedish striker has scored 17 goals in 23 league appearances to lead the Magpies’ push for Champions League qualification.

Should Eddie Howe’s side miss out on a place in Europe’s elite, Isak could seek a move with clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool and Barcelona credited as admirers.
Spanish outlet Super Deporte are reporting that Newcastle could target a Premier League proven replacement in the form of Chelsea’s Jackson. The 23-year-old has scored 26 goals in 68 appearances since joining Chelsea from Villarreal in a ÂŁ30m deal in 2023.
He has nine goals in the Premier League this season, though endured an eight-game barren run before being sidelined with a hamstring injury earlier this month. Chelsea have been linked with signing another centre-forward in the summer.
Speaking to Sky Sports Monday night football in December, former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry said he believes Jackson is developing into the ‘real deal’.
“He’s on his way to being that [the real deal] but it’s a long road,” Henry told Sky Sports Monday Night Football.
“One thing that is difficult when you play for a club like Chelsea and teams who are at the top is that you get compared to who was there before.
“And maybe you’re not the same kind of striker, you’re a different striker, but you’re going to get compared to Drogba.”
