Manchester United make the trip to a resurgent Everton this weekend in desperate need of an improved performance.
Ruben Amorim’s side saw their sorry season reach a new low last weekend after a narrow defeat at Tottenham. The Red Devils have lost eight of their 14 league fixtures under Amorim, whose 29% win percentage is comfortably the lowest of any Manchester United manager in the Premier League era.
United are 15th in the Premier League table and closer in points to the bottom three than Champions League places.

Amorim comes up against former Manchester United manager David Moyes on Saturday lunchtime. Moyes was the first to inherit was has become a poisoned chalice from Sir Alex Ferguson, but was sacked just 10 months into his reign.
The Scot returned to Everton last month and has overseen a remarkable upturn in results and performances. Everton have taken 13 points from their last five to move above United in the table.
Manchester United XI vs Everton – Predicted lineup and team news
Manchester United team news
Ruben Amorim’s cause is not helped by the absence of several key figures. Amad Diallo – a bright spark in an otherwise dreary season – is out for the campaign with an ankle issue, while Mason Mount and Kobbie Mainoo are also ruled out.
There’s more positive news on Manuel Ugarte and Leny Yoro who should return at Everton, while Christian Eriksen and Toby Collyer could also be involved.
Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw and Jonny Evans are all still sidelined with the former’s season over after ACL surgery. Amorim will hope for more senior options at his disposal, having filled his bench with academy products during last week’s loss at Spurs.

Manchester United predicted XI: Onana; Dalot, Mazraoui, Maguire, De Ligt, Dorgu; Fernandes, Ugarte; Zirkzee, Garnacho, Hojlund.
