Tigres UANL’s women’s team were hosting Chivas Guadalajara at the Estadio Universitario, hoping to overtake their rivals in the Liga MX Feminil standings.

Lizbeth Ovalle ran onto a weak cross, but she made the most out of it, counterintuitively twisting her body to face away from the goal and flick the ball on with a scorpion kick.

It will take something truly remarkable to beat it for this year’s Marta Award, given to the best goal scored by a female player at Fifa’s annual The Best Awards.
Ovalle’s sensational score was followed up moments later by a goal from teammate Jhennifer, handing Tigres a 2-0 win to see them move up to fourth in the table.
