Chelsea set to offer Lukaku and Koulibaly to Inter in exchange for Onana

Chelsea want to sign Andre Onana and are prepared to offer Kalidou Koulibaly and Romelu Lukaku in exchange for the Inter Milan goalkeeper.

Onana is a transfer target for Mauricio Pochettino this summer after an impressive debut season with Inter, one which has seen the Cameroon international shine during the club’s run to the Champions League final.

The 27-year-old led the Champions League for goals prevented, saves and clean sheets and Chelsea are preparing to launch a move for Onana after Inter’s season came to an end with defeat to Manchester City in Istanbul.

The Sun are reporting that Inter value Onana – who was signed on a free transfer from Ajax last summer – at around £55m, but Chelsea are hoping to reach a potential swap-deal agreement.

The west Londoners are willing to offer Romelu Lukaku and Kalidou Koulibaly in exchange for Onana, with the former having spent last season on loan at the San Siro. Lukaku is due to return to Chelsea for talks with new manager Pochettino but is keen to remain in Italy.

Koulibaly could also be offered as part of a potential deal, following an underwhelming first season at Stamford Bridge. The Senegal international signed from Napoli last summer but has failed to live up to expectations and has been linked with a return to Serie A.

Inter could be open to a move for the defender, with centre-back Milan Skriniar understood to have signed a pre-contract agreement with Paris Saint-Germain.

Inter have also prepared for Onana’s departure with the signing of goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli. The 26-year-old earned a first call up to the Italian national side in September.
