Manchester United have asked to be ‘kept informed’ on Moises Caicedo’s future at Brighton.
Caicedo is a transfer target for several Premier League clubs with Arsenal and Chelsea keen on a move for the midfielder, with the London rivals having seen approaches for the Ecuadorian turned down during the January transfer window.
Caicedo is regarded as one of the Premier League’s best young talents and ranked second in the division for both tackles and interceptions last season, as Brighton secured qualification for European competition for the first time with a top-six finish.
Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi admitted last month that Caicedo could move on this summer and Sky Sports are reporting that Manchester United have requested to be kept informed on his situation.
United have a long-standing interest in the 21-year-old and tracked the midfielder before his move from Independiente del Valle to the Amex Stadium.
Erik ten Hag’s focus is on signing a centre-forward this summer and a decision will be made on midfield targets after a forward is secured, with Harry Kane and Rasmus Hojland under consideration.
Transfer funds will also be dependent on outgoings, while the Red Devils are awaiting to discover the outcome of the battle to takeover at Old Trafford, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani having submitted offers for the club.
