Chelsea, Man City, and Liverpool all attempting to sign Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde

Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool have all made approaches to sign Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde this summer.

The Premier League sides have made enquiries into Valverde’s availability following Real Madrid’s capture of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.

The arrival of the England international has added to a stacked midfield already containing Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga and veteran duo Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

TeamTalk are reporting that the English enquiries were met with a clear message that Valverde was not for sale, while the Uruguay international does not want to leave the Bernabeu.

Valverde – who has often been used in a right-sided role to accommodate Madrid’s midfielders – was asked on his future last month, but told ESPN Argentina that he has no intention of leaving the Spanish capital.

“No, no, no, I’m at Real Madrid, trying to enjoy every moment and to continue leaving my mark on this team, which is the best in the world,” he said.

“I want to keep winning titles for the fans.”

Valverde has developed into a key figure for Real Madrid since signing from Peñarol in 2016 and produced the best goalscoring season of his career last term with 12 in all competitions, while his performances saw the midfielder named in La Liga’s Team of the Season.

The 24-year-old has won two La Liga titles among his honours and assisted the winning goal as Real Madrid beat Liverpool 1-0 in the 2022 Champions League final.
