Juventus are close to reaching an agreement with Adrien Rabiot over a contract extension, despite speculation linking the midfielder with Manchester United.
Rabiot’s current contract is set to expire this week and Manchester United are understood to have held talks over a potential move to sign the France international as a free agent.
The Red Devils have renewed their interest in Rabiot after an approach last summer, having been frustrated in the club’s pursuit of Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.
However, Rabiot is set to turn down interest from the Premier League in favour of signing a new deal at Juventus with Fabrizio Romano reporting that an agreement over an extension is close.
The news will come as a major boost to Juventus, who missed out on Champions League qualification last season after being deducted 10 points by the Italian football federation for irregularities in the club’s accounting.
Rabiot produced the best football of his career last season to score 11 goals in all competitions for Juventus and formed part of the France team that reached the World Cup final in Qatar last winter.
He has made 179 appearances for Juventus since joining the Italian club on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019.
