Inter Milan are set to make a move to re-sign Romelu Lukaku this summer.
Lukaku initially moved to Inter Milan from Manchester United in a £75m move in 2019, banging in 64 goals in 95 appearances and helping the Nerrazzuri to win the Serie A title in 2021.
His form at the San Siro saw Chelsea come calling, with the Belgian making a then-club-record return to Stamford Bridge.
His first season back in the Premier League was massively underwhelming, scoring 15 goals in 59 appearances for the Blues, who sanctioned a season-long loan move back to Inter Milan.
Following their run to the Champions League final, Lukaku is scheduled to return to Stamford Bridge this summer, though according to Fabrizio Romano, the Italian side are expected to make contact with Chelsea ‘next week’ with a view to re-signing the 30-year-old.
Inter have agreed an €18 million deal to allow Marcelo Brozovic to join Saudi side Al-Nassr, and Romano says that the talks over Lukaku will take place once the Croatian has completed his transfer to the Middle East.
He says that Inter are expected to propose a loan move that includes a ‘buy clause’, as well as discuss potential payments in instalments.
Chelsea spent £97.5m to sign Lukaku two years ago, with Inter subsequently agreeing a loan fee worth around £7m plus bonuses for the striker to return to Milan last season.
The Premier League side have already announced the signing of attacking pair Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson from RB Leipzig and Villarreal respectively.
