Chelsea receive two bids for Christian Pulisic

Chelsea have received bids from AC Milan and Lyon for Christian Pulisic with the winger expected to depart the club this summer.

Pulisic is keen to leave Chelsea in search of a new challenge after failing to secure a regular role in the side last season. The US international made just eight starts in the Premier League and has struggled for consistent form across his four seasons at Stamford Bridge.

AC Milan are interested in a deal to sign the 24-year-old and have made a verbal offer of €14m (£12m) for Pulisic, whose current contract is set to expire next summer.

The Rossoneri have already completed the signing of Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea and are now working on a deal to bring Pulisic to the San Siro.

The Athletic are reporting that Lyon have now rivalled the Italians in the race to sign Pulisic and have offered Chelsea a deal worth €25million (£21.5m) plus a ‘meaningful’ sell-on clause.

The bid from Lyon is closer to Chelsea’s valuation of Pulisic, who signed for the west Londoners in a £58m deal from Borussia Dortmund in 2019. The winger has since scored 26 goals and provided 21 assists in 145 appearances for the club in all competitions.
