Thiago Silva reveals talk with Dybala over Chelsea move

Thiago Silva has revealed that he has talked with Roma forward Paulo Dybala about a potential transfer to Chelsea this summer.

Dybala has been linked with a move to Chelsea and the 29-year-old possesses a release clause in his Roma contract that allows him to leave for a foreign side for a fee of just €12m (£10m).

The Argentina international scored 18 goals in all competitions for Roma last season after arriving from Juventus on a free transfer and is understood to be on the radar of Mauricio Pochettino.

Pochettino is an admirer of his compatriot and previously made attempts to sign Dybala while in charge of Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea centre-back Silva has now revealed that he broached the subject of a Premier League move for Dybala, after meeting the forward at Sunday’s British grand prix at Silverstone. Silva opened up on his conversation with Dybala to Italian media and endorsed a potential Chelsea move for the World Cup winner.

“I saw Paulo Dybala here, they [the media] talk about him coming to Chelsea,” Silva told Sky Sport Italia on the grid walk.

“I’ve talked with him and asked him if he is coming. He is a world-class player. I would love to play with him and it would be a massive signing. Let’s see.”
