Joao Felix reveals his ‘dream’ transfer destination

Joao Felix has revealed his dream to play for Barcelona and admits he would love to sign for the Spanish side this summer.

Felix’s future is uncertain after spending the second half of last season on loan at Chelsea, with the forward having fallen out of favour under Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea decided against turning the loan move into a permanent deal, but Felix is expected to move on from Atletico this summer after an underwhelming spell in the Spanish capital.

The forward’s relationship with Simeone has deteriorated and he has been forced to train with the youth side on his return for pre-season.

The Portugal international – who has scored 34 goals in 131 games for Atletico since his £113m move to the club from Benfica – has discussed his future and has admitted that he grew up dreaming of representing Barcelona.

Barcelona have been credited with interest in signing the 23-year-old, but the club’s financial issues mean a deal will be difficult to reach.

“I’d love to play for Barça,” Felix told Fabrizio Romano.

“Barcelona has always been my first choice and I’d love to join Barça. It was always my dream since I was a kid. If it happens, it will be a dream come true for me.”
