Chelsea look set to beat off rivals Arsenal to the signing of highly-rated attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus.
The 22-year-old midfielder joined Dutch giants Ajax from Danish outfit Nordsjelland in 2020 and has impressed massively both domestically and in the Champions League.
Kudus already has 24 caps and seven international goals for Ghana despite his tender age and according to the Daily Mail Chelsea are now in pole position to sign him after opening talks for his signature.
Chelsea are in need of strengthening their midfield options after seeing top-class players like Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount, and N’Golo Kante depart Stamford Bridge this summer.
Kudus’s energy and quality in attacking areas are thought to fit perfectly with the style of play that new Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino wants to implement in West London.
Chelsea are expected to pay Ajax a fee of around £40 million to bring Kudus to the Premier League.
