Manchester United will demand a fee in excess of £30m from clubs interested in signing Harry Maguire this summer.
Maguire’s future at the club is uncertain following Erik ten Hag’s decision to remove the centre-back as club captain, after a disappointing season that saw the 30-year-old lose his place in the side.
Maguire made just eight league starts last season and several Premier League clubs are monitoring his situation, with West Ham having seen a bid of £20m rejected for the England international.
Tottenham and Everton have also been linked, though the Independent on reporting that interested clubs will need to spend in excess of £30m to sign the defender.
Erik ten Hag has publicly said that Maguire remains a part of his plans and has urged the centre-back to fight for his place at Old Trafford, but a lack of first-team football could impact Maguire’s hopes of featuring for England at next summer’s European Championship.
“It’s nothing against Harry, it was in advantage of the team,” Ten Hag said on his captaincy decision.
“Then you make the decision. But I will not say that Harry isn’t part of this group. He has to fight for his position.
“He is a very good centre-back, and I believe in the potential of Harry Maguire. It’s just that he has to prove himself and fight his way into the team. It’s up to him, and I think he can do it.”
