Chelsea are exploring different options in the club’s search to sign a centre-forward having failed to reach an agreement with Juventus over Dusan Vlahovic.
Chelsea have been in negotiations with Juventus over a potential swap-deal involving the forward and Romelu Lukaku, but the west Londoners are unwilling to accept the proposal currently on offer from the Italian side.
Juventus are demanding a fee of €40m (£34.5m) plus Lukaku in exchange for Vlahovic, who has scored 23 goals in 63 appearances for the Serie A since signing from Fiorentina in January 2022.
Chelsea are interested in signing Vlahovic, but are unwilling to match the current terms and a deal for the Serbia international is now in doubt. Lukaku is understood to have agreed terms on a three-year deal with Juventus.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Chelsea are now exploring ‘different options’ at centre-forward as the Blues look to bolster their forward line.
The west Londoners scored just 38 goals in the Premier League last season, their lowest return in a league season since 1924.
Chelsea have signed Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku during the current window, but the latter is set to miss the opening months of the Premier League campaign after undergoing knee surgery last week.
Chelsea begin their Premier League campaign at home to Liverpool on Sunday August 13.
