RB Leipzig director Oliver Mintzlaff has confirmed that Dani Olmo will not be sold this summer, despite reported interest in the midfielder from Manchester City.
Olmo has been linked with a move to the Premier League champions, who are assessing the transfer market for attacking midfielders with Kevin De Bruyne ruled out for four months after undergoing hamstring surgery.
Olmo – who scored a hat-trick as RB Leipzig beat Bayern Munich in the German Supercup earlier this month – is understood to have been on the radar of Pep Guardiola, but recently reiterated his happiness at the Bundesliga side.
Leipzig director Mintzlaff has now said that Olmo will not be sold during the current window, with the German side under no pressure to sell after the exits of Christopher Nkunku, Dominik Szoboszlai and Josko Gvardiol to the Premier League this summer.
“Dani Olmo will be part of the Leipzig squad this season,” Mintzlaff said, as per Fabrizio Romano.
“No matter who is interested, he’s here and he’s staying.”
City are understood to have lodged a bid for Wolves’ midfielder Matheus Nunes and are also considering Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.
