Liverpool ‘admire’ Jarrod Bowen and have been watching the West Ham winger for ‘a number of seasons’ as the club consider potential replacements for Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool turned down a bid worth £150m for Salah during the closing stages of the summer transfer window, but interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad is not expected to go away with a returned effort to sign the Egyptian expected.
Reports have suggested that Al-Itthad are prepared to offer a world-record fee to sign Salah, a figure which – despite their summer stance that Salah was not for sale – could tempt Liverpool to cash in on the 31-year-old as the Reds rebuild under Jurgen Klopp.
Attention has turned to potential replacements and The Athletic are reporting that Bowen is a player on the club’s radar.
The 26-year-old has started the season in excellent form for West Ham with three goals and an assist in four Premier League appearances.
The four-cap England international would offer a solid stylistic replacement given his preference to come inside from the right-wing onto his stronger left foot.
Liverpool are understood to have tracked his progress for a number seasons and could make an effort to sign Bowen should the riches on offer from Saudi Arabia prove persuasive.
