Frank Lampard is one of the names Lyon are considering as the club’s next head coach, following the decision to sack Laurent Blanc this week.
Blanc was dismissed after a dismal start to the season, with Lyon bottom of the Ligue 1 table after taking just one point from their opening four fixtures.
Graham Potter is understood to have turned down an approach from the French side last week, though Lyon are reportedly considering another former Chelsea coach.
90min are reporting that Lampard has been placed on the club’s managerial shortlist, alongside former AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso.
Lampard has been without a club since leaving Chelsea at the end of last season, having returned to west London on a caretaker basis after Potter’s sacking at Stamford Bridge.
The 45-year-old had been sacked at Everton in January 2023 with the Toffees struggling near the bottom of the Premier League table.
Lampard previously had spells in charge of Derby County and Chelsea, leading the latter to Champions League qualification and the FA Cup final in 2019/20.
