Arsenal are nearing agreements on contract extensions for Martin Odegaard and Ben White, as the Gunners look to tie down integral members of Mikel Areta’s squad.
Arsenal have been working on a number of new deals this year and have already agreed extensions with Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, Aaron Ramsdale and Gabriel Martinelli in recent months.
Odegaard and White are the next pair set for new deals with football.london reporting that the duo are close to finalising new contracts.
Odegaard produced the best football of his career as Arsenal finished as runners-up in the Premier League last season, with the midfielder nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award after scoring 15 league goals.
The 24-year-old – who was named club captain ahead of last season – also won Arsenal’s Player of the Season accolade and claimed the London Football Awards Premier League Player of the Year.
White was also crucial to Arsenal’s encouraging season and featured in all 38 Premier League games in 2022/23.
The 25-year-old shone after being moved to a right-back role and has started all four of the Gunners’ league fixtures this season, despite increased competition for a first-team place.
