Fede Valverde rejected approaches from Premier League clubs during the summer transfer window in favour of remaining at Real Madrid.
Valverde is understood to have been a transfer target for English clubs during the window, with several Premier League clubs having made enquiries into his availability after Real Madrid’s capture of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the Uruguay international turned down offers from abroad in favour of competing for a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s midfield, with the 24-year-old having no interest in leaving the Bernabeu.
“Premier League offers? I have the ability to play for Real,” Valverde said, as per Romano.
“The day I don’t feel like that, I’m probably going to look for another solution or Real itself will look for one for me”.
Valverde has made 209 appearances in all competitions since signing for Real Madrid from Peñarol as a teenager and produced the best goalscoring form of his career in 2022/23, with 12 in all competitions.
The midfielder scored an equaliser as Real Madrid came from behind to beat Real Sociedad and maintain their perfect start to the La Liga season on Sunday.
