Jamie Carragher has been labelled a “disgrace” by the father of Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
The 25-year-old has had to settled for a place on the bench for the last three games after being dropped by Mikel Arteta, with David Raya has taking his place between the sticks.
The Spanish shot stopper proved his worth during the North London Derby on Sunday, denying Brennan Johnson a first goal for Tottenham with a last ditch save.
Ramsdale was seen applauding his Arsenal teammate, which Carragher mocked after the game on Sky Sports.
“I thought I was at the Oscars – you know when someone loses the Oscar and they start clapping and smiling for the other person. I was laughing when I saw that. He’s absolutely devastated,” the former Liverpool defender said.
Nick Ramsdale took umbrage with Carragher’s comments, tweeting that the pundit is “a disgrace”, before telling the Liverpudlian to “show some class!! My lad has”.
