Liverpool consider club record Leroy Sane move

Liverpool will consider a club record move to sign Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich, should Mohamed Salah leave the club.

Salah has been subject of strong interest from the Saudi Pro League with Liverpool having turned down a bid worth up to £150m from Al-Ittihad for the Egypt international during the summer transfer window.

Interest from the Saudi Pro League is unlikely to go away with the division’s director, Michael Emenalo, having endorsed a move for Salah again this week.

The 31-year-old will have just 12 months remaining on his contract at the end of the season and the Sunday Mirror are reporting Sane is being lined up as a potential replacement.

The Germany international won two Premier League titles at Manchester City before his move to Munich, where he has since added three consecutive Bundesliga crowns.

The 27-year-old has started the new season in fine form with six goals in seven Bundesliga games for Bayern, who have made an unbeaten start to the campaign.

Bayern – who signed Sane in a £55m deal – would be reluctant to let the winger leave and Liverpool would likely need to break their transfer record to land the German.
