Mikel Arteta says Chelsea are going to be a threat in the Premier League this season as Arsenal prepare to face their London rivals this weekend.
Arsenal travel across the capital to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening, as the Gunners look to maintain their unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign.
Arsenal have held the superiority in this fixture in recent meetings and have won five of the last six Premier League clashes between the London rivals.
However, Arteta is not underestimating a Chelsea side who have shown improvement under new head coach Mauricio Pochettino, winning three consecutive games in all competitions before the international break.
“It is a big game. I’ve been really impressed by them this season, it is different,” Arteta said at his pre-match press conference.
“They deserve more than what they have in the table. We’ll have to be at our best tomorrow.”
On Arsenal’s unbeaten start, Arteta added: “I go game by game. Chelsea have a good squad, they are at home, we are in a good moment too. We will try and beat them and see what happens.
“I think when you look first of all at the manager and coaching staff, and then the history and players it’s going to happen very quickly. You can see that they’re going to be a threat.”
