Real Madrid and Barcelona are said to be interested in signing Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus.
That’s according to Spanish outlet AS, who report that both clubs wanted the Brazilian international before he joined the Gunners from Manchester City for a transfer fee of £45 million in 2022.
The two La Liga clubs are still following Jesus closely as he remains on their radar, and they would have been impressed by his latest display.
On Wednesday night the 26-year-old scored and assisted in Arsenal‘s 2-1 win over Sevilla at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium, one of the toughest grounds in Europe at which to win. He has scored 15 goals and made eight assists in 44 appearances for the club since the beginning of last season.
Real Madrid have been on the lookout for a new number nine after Karim Benzema left the Bernabeu in the summer to join Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad. Los Blancos want to sign Kylian Mbappe from PSG when his contract expires next summer, although he prefers to operate on the left.
Barcelona, meanwhile, have Robert Lewandowski up top, but are reportedly keen to sign a backup forward in case the 35-year-old incurs an injury. They were recently linked with Man City striker Julian Alvarez, who has been in impressive form this season, scoring seven goals and assisting four more in all competitions.
