Tottenham and Liverpool are among the clubs interested in signing out-of-contract Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly in the January transfer window.
Kelly’s current contract expires at the end of the season and a number of Premier League clubs are preparing approaches to sign the 25-year-old.
Spurs and Liverpool are among the clubs in search of reinforcements at centre-back and each are considering Kelly, with the former having lost Micky van de Ven to a hamstring injury during the defeat to Chelsea on Monday evening.
Liverpool are also looking at left-sided defensive options, while Newcastle are long-term admirers of the defender and have injury issues of their own with both Sven Botman and Dan Burn currently sidelined.
However, TeamTalk are reporting that the trio will be disappointed in their hopes to sign Kelly in a cut-price deal when the winter window opens however, with Bournemouth prepared to reject all approaches.
Bournemouth feel Kelly’s influence is too important to lose in their battle to beat relegation, despite the risk of losing the defender on a free transfer in the summer.
Kelly will be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides in January and AC Milan are said to have expressed interest. Kelly – who can play at centre-back or left-back – could join fellow Englishmen Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek at the San Siro should he decide to head abroad and sign for the Rossoneri.
