Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy has admitted he is open to a move to the Premier League as clubs circle for the in-form forward.
Guirassy is a transfer target for clubs across Europe after a record-breaking start to the season at Stuttgart, where the 27-year-old scored 13 goals in the opening seven games of the Bundesliga campaign to set a new record.
Guirassy’s goals beat the previous landmark of 11 goals from seven games, set by Robert Lewandowski, while a reported release clause of €17.5m (£15.1m) has put clubs across Europe on red-alert.
Manchester United, Tottenham, Fulham, West Ham and Brentford have all been linked, and the Guinea international admits the Premier League appeals as interest increases in his services.
“I cannot hide these things – everyone knows the Premier League is one of the most competitive leagues in the world,” he told The Guardian.
“But at this time I don’t close any doors. There are some very big teams in Europe and it’s not focused only on the Premier League.
“At Stuttgart we have such a good team and everything is possible in football. If we can continue to be humble like we have been so far then we have a good chance.”
Guirassy opened up on his goal record this season, with only Harry Kane having outscored the forward across Europe’s top five leagues this season. The striker’s run of form has propelled Stuttgart into Champions League contention in Germany, having battled to avoid relegation last season.
“I’m always trying to be in the right place at the right time,” he said.
“Last season I managed to score some easy goals because I was able to work out where the ball would go. It’s something instinctive. When I was younger, I liked to run everywhere on the pitch but I’ve learned about myself.
“I watch a lot of football on TV and I like to watch players like Lewandowski, Kane or [Erling] Haaland and analyse what they are doing. You learn from the best and scoring goals is an art. I like to play with the ball but the most important thing is to be ready in the box.”
