Juventus centre-back open to Premier League transfer

Juventus centre-back Bremer has called the Premier League a ‘very exciting championship’ and has expressed his desire for a future move to the division.

Bremer’s performances in Italy have seen the defender linked with the Premier League in recent transfer windows, with the 26-year-old named as Serie A’s Best Defender at Torino in 2021/22, before his move to Juventus.

The centre-back has been named in the Serie A Team of the Year in each of the last two seasons and broke into the Brazilian national team in 2022.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham have all been named as admirers of the defender, who has admitted he is open to a future transfer to the Premier League.

Bremer named David Luiz and Vincent Kompany among his role models in English football, but says his focus is on winning trophies with Juventus for now. The Brazilian called Juventus – who sit second in Serie A – ‘one of the best teams in the world’, as the Bianconeri look to win a first league title since 2019/20.

“I have a couple of role models in England playing at centre-back,” Bremer told The Telegraph.

“I watched David Luiz at Chelsea, a Premier League winner and a Champions League winner. But also Vincent Kompany in all the years he played at Manchester City,” Bremer said.

“I like La Liga and the Premier League, but the Premier League is a very exciting championship and I watch a lot of matches and they are very entertaining. One day I would like to play in the Premier League but right now I am focused on Juventus and winning trophies with them, we are one of the best teams in the world.”
