AC Milan are considering loan approaches for Chelsea centre-back Benoit Badiashile and Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior in the January transfer window.
Milan want to sign a central defender in the winter and are targeting loan deals for the Premier League duo, who have struggled for regular first-team football so far this season.
Badisahile impressed after his arrival at Chelsea from Monaco last January, but has failed to make a Premier League appearance so far this season. The 22-year-old missed the start of the campaign through injury and has been an unused substitute in each of the club’s last four league games.
The defender’s sole appearance of the season so far came in the EFL Cup win over Blackburn earlier this month, where Badiashile opened the scoring in a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.
The twice-capped France international faces strong competition for a first-team place however, following Levi Colwill’s return from a loan spell at Brighton last season. The latter has broken into the England set-up this season and has occupied Badiashile’s preferred left-sided centre-back role.
Kiwior has also struggled for minutes at Arsenal. The Poland international has featured for just 182 minutes in the Premier League for the Gunners this season. Kiwior previously spent time in Serie A at Spezia and calciomercato are reporting that the versatile defender is also on Milan’s shortlist of centre-back options.
The Rossoneri are looking to add a loan signing to their depleted defensive stocks, with Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino out injured and Simon Kajer suffering from muscular issues. Milan have dropped to fourth in the Serie A table after four league games without a win.
