Manchester United injury news:

Luke Shaw

As previously mentioned, Shaw has been out with a muscular issue since his injury against Tottenham in August.

The defender has been an important tool in Erik Ten Hag’s system while at Manchester United, with the Dutchman often deploying the England international at both left-back and centre half.

Part of the early season injury crisis at United, Shaw has been training this week and should be in contention for the weekends clash against Everton.

Commenting on the matter in his press conference, Ten Hag said: “Shaw will be available for Sunday, he will be in the squad. A long time this season we didn’t have a left full-back. He will help us be more stable.”

Marcus Rashford

United’s winger was involved in a heavy collision with Trent Alexander-Arnold during England’s clash with Malta last Friday, but Gareth Southgate didn’t seem too concerned and his fitness is deemed to be unaffected.

Although the 26-year-old has failed to hit the heights of last season, scoring only one goal in all competitions so far this campaign, Ten Hag will be keen to have Rashford in the fold for Sunday.

Andre Onana

It was revealed yesterday that despite injury worries following Cameroon’s clash with Mauritius, Onana has no setbacks and will be fit to feature this weekend.

Ten Hag revealed in his press conference that the ‘keeper was ‘okay’ and ‘has trained’.

Rasmus Hojlund

United’s new striker withdrew from Denmark duty during the international break, with a suspected hamstring problem.

Hojlund has five goals in four Champions League appearances this season, but is yet to open his league tally, and currently faces a race against time to get back for the Everton match.

Speaking to beIN SPORT on the issue, Ten Hag said: “Rasmus Hojlund, not too bad. Everton will be a close finish but we’re working on that. We’re not sure if he can make that but, hopefully, in the next week, he will return to the squad.”

Christian Eriksen

Hojlund’s Danish teammate faces a longer stint on the sidelines.

After suffering a knee injury whilst on international duty, Eriksen will be citing mid-December as a return date, adding to Ten Hag’s woes.

Speaking on the injury to beIN SPORT, Ten Hag said: “Christian will take a little bit longer. It will take some weeks until his return.”

Casemiro

Casemiro suffered a setback from a previous injury during the Red Devil’s 3-0 loss to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup. The 31-year-old will be recovering from a hamstring issue until the New Year.

Jonny Evans

Another injury to Ten Hag’s defence, Evans will be out until December at least.

He suffered a thigh strain in the Champions League, during the Red Devils 4-3 loss to Copenhagen, eliminating a useful option of defensive depth.

Speaking on the defender in his pre-match press conference, Ten Hag said: “Jonny [Evans] is on the way back, he’s not ready for Everton, he will not take long.”

Amad Diallo and Tyrell Malacia

Both players are citing late November/early December as a potential return time, and will provide a much needed boost to Ten Hag’s squad.

The pair have both been out since pre-season, with the Dutch left-back in individual training after surgery to his knee, following a problem originating all the way back in May.

Diallo suffered his knee problem during the club’s tour of the United States, but is also in individual training.

Lisandro Martinez

The 2022 World Cup champion has been absent for the majority of this season, following surgery on his foot.

The Argentinian is back at Carrington watching his team in training, and will be desperate to help United’s leaky defence as soon as he can. Early 2024 is the target for the defender.
