Arsenal and Tottenham are considering moves to sign Feyenoord forward Santiago Gimenez in the January transfer window.
The north London duo want to sign a goalscorer in the upcoming transfer windows and Gimenez’s prolific run of form in Rotterdam has alerted Europe’s elite.
After scoring 23 goals in all competitions as Feyenoord won the Eredivisie title last season, Gimenez has fired 18 in just 16 games during the current campaign.
The Mexican’s run of form has placed him on the transfer wish-list of several top clubs, with L’Equipe reporting that Arsenal and Spurs are keen on a deal, alongside both Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
The 22-year-old has scored 41 goals in less than 18 months at Feyenoord, having arrived from Cruz Azul of just £5.2m in 2022.
Last month, Morris Pagniello, who works alongside Gimenez and his father as a consultant, revealed talks have already been held with some of Europe’s elite clubs, including Spurs.
“We have already spoken with Atletico Madrid,” he told Tuttomercato.
“We also talked about him with Inter, AC Milan, Lazio and Napoli. For me, he could be perfect for both Inter and Juventus. They would be the best options for him. I’ve been telling various clubs to believe in him, his value went from €10m to €40m in just under 12 months. Now the teams closest to him are Real Madrid and Tottenham.”
