Arsenal injury news ahead of Wolves contest

With Gabriel Jesus and Martin Odegaard returning last weekend, Arsenal currently possess a lighter injury list in comparison to their Premier League rivals.

The Gunners sealed their place in the Champions League round of 16 with a 6-0 demolition of Lens, and will be hoping to continue the strong form into the weekend, as they welcome Wolves to the Emirates.

Arsenal injury news

Fabio Vieira

Mikel Arteta announced in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Lens match that Vieira will miss a “number of weeks” due to an operation on his groin.

After a straight red card against Sheffield United, the Portuguese international featured for the u21 side in their trip to Reading, and has now gone under the knife for an issue that was deemed otherwise unsolvable.

It is currently unclear as to how long the midfielder will be out, but a month is the suspected time period.

Thomas Partey

Partey aggravated an issue caused on international duty, prolonging his inconsistent start to the season, and has now undergone a ‘procedure’ to solve the problem with his thigh.

The Ghanaian started out this campaign at right-back and seemed to be heavily in Mikel Arteta’s plans, but injuries have put a halt to this.

A frustrating period in his Arsenal career, the midfielder will have to wait until early 2024 to help his side again.

Emile Smith Rowe

Emile Smith Rowe featured in the 5-0 victory over Sheffield United but was then absent from the squad that faced West Ham in the Carabao Cup.

Arteta said afterwards: “He’s got an injury in his knee and he’s going to be out for weeks.”

It is thought that the midfielder will be back by the end of the year.

Jurrien Timber

Arsenal’s summer signing has been out with an ACL injury since the opening day of the Premier League campaign, a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest.

The Dutchman continues his recovery, and will aim to return in early 2024.

When asked last week on whether Timber would be back on the grass soon, Arteta said: “I hope so. Doing what kind of activity that’s something very different.

“He’s been for a few walks but that’s very far from competing.”
