Thomas Frank believes that Ivan Toney will remain at Brentford after the January transfer window despite being linked with a move to Arsenal or Chelsea.
The England striker has attracted interest from the two Premier League clubs after scoring 32 goals over the past two seasons.
The 27-year-old, who is reportedly valued at £80 million by the Bees, is suspended until January 14 after breaching the FA’s gambling rules.
Frank expects Toney to hit the ground running when he returns to action in 2024 and reckons he will not leave the west London outfit next month.
“Everyone saw what he did last year,” the Danish tactician told the Standard. “It’s not like he broke a leg or did his ACL, so he’s fit and probably even more ambitious to get success. I’m convinced he will be absolutely on it.
“I don’t want to lose him. I hope, and think, he’ll be a Brentford player on February 1.”
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said the club are not planning on bringing in a new striker during the January window.
