Erling Haaland has taken to social media to express his confusion with Simon Hooper’s controversial late call in Manchester City’s draw with Tottenham.
Pep Guardiola’s side drew for the third consecutive Premier League game after a thrilling 3-3 draw with the north Londoners, with Dejan Kulusevski heading home a late equaliser for the visitors at the Etihad.
City squandered a number of good chances, but were denied a goalscoring opportunity as referee Hooper failed to play an advantage in the closing seconds, with Jack Grealish through on goal. Hooper called back the game for a foul on Haaland near the halfway line, despite initially appearing to signal advantage.
Haaland was incensed with the decision on the field and headed down the tunnel at full-time, with the Norwegian taking to social media to express his confusion, writing ‘WTF’ to images of Hooper initially opting for an advantage to the Citizens.

Pep Guardiola spoke on Haaland’s frustration at full-time after the 23-year-old was held back by teammates.
“He is a fantastic player. His frustration is for the last action [Grealish decision] and not for scoring goals,” Guardiola said to Sky Sports.
“What can I say as a manager to these players and our fans? A team who tried their best and a full stadium again who cheered us to the end.
“Maybe next time we will be better and improve. How many chances did Spurs create, also Liverpool, not many and we did not get the result we wanted today either. Wednesday we have another game and go for it.”
